WWE SMACKDOWN 22/11/13 FULL MATCHES RESULTS

Who should be the face of WWE?

Being the face of WWE is about more than having the best match on the card or looking like one of the kids from “The Hunger Games.” It’s about being the representative of a global brand — the walking, talking embodiment of everything WWE symbolizes, from its 50-year history of squared circle excellence to its charitable initiatives, from its movie studio to its international Live Events.  Does that sound like a role for Randy Orton? For The Authority, obviously, it does. For some of the editors on the first floor of WWE HQ, there’s a Straight Edge Superstar, a 7-foot force of nature and even an unpredictable Diva who wears a pair of Chuck Taylors like nobody’s business who should be in that spot.

Michael Strahan to guest star on Nov. 25 edition of Monday Night Raw

A Giant is coming to Monday Night Raw, and we ain’t talking about Big Show.  Monday's Raw will feature a guest star in Super Bowl Champion, “FOX NFL Sunday” analyst and “Live With Kelly & Michael” co-host Michael Strahan. A 15-year veteran of the New York Giants, Strahan capped his illustrious career off with Big Blue’s Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots in 2008. Since then, the former defensive standout has been a regular on FOX’s Sunday coverage of the NFL, as well as a talk-show mainstay alongside Kelly Ripa. He and Ripa are currently nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Host(s).  Strahan has rubbed shoulders with John Cena on “Live” in the past, and Super Bowl champions have a history of shaking things up when they drop by Raw and SmackDown, so whatever he has in store for Monday Night Raw, it’s sure to be must-see. Tune in Monday at 8/7 CT on USA Network to see what goes down!

Daniel Bryan & Josh Reddick crown 'The King of Beards' at SmackDown

ATLANTA, Ga. – Oakland A’s outfielder Josh Reddick may have had the most eventful night of anyone at SmackDown this week, and he didn’t even set foot in a WWE ring to do it.  The MLB Gold Glove winner not only settled a long-brewing grudge with Daniel Bryan over who has the better beard, but he nearly stepped into the ropes for an impromptu match with one of his MLB rivals, New York Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler. While, alas, an MLB throwdown did not occur, it’s safe to say that Reddick’s beard wasn’t so safe. Just goes to show you, anything can happen in WWE, even if you’re not a WWE Superstar.

NXT 10-Count: Scott Dawson

WWE UNIVERSE: What do you like to do in your spare time?
DAWSON: First and foremost, drink coffee. I really like working out, but not that sissy core and ab stuff all the other Superstars do. I'm a fighter, and abs ain't ever won a fight. Big plates and big steaks equal big pecs and big checks.

WWE UNIVERSE: What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done?  DAWSON: Well, seeing how I'm, like, the James Dean of WWE, everything I do is cool. The coolest was the time my friends and I took a trip to a local farmer’s horse farm. It was late at night and raining. I started sneaking up behind the biggest horse in the pen and I jumped right on top and rode her like I was Smokey Davis! Needless to say, she threw me off about 50 feet in the air! But nothing hurts me, so I was OK.

WWE UNIVERSE: Who inspired you to step inside the squared circle?

DAWSON: I've fought my whole life, literally. I’ve fought behind trailer parks for money; I’ve bounced; and now I’m wrestling. My biggest inspiration to train for WWE, however, is Bret "Hit Man" Hart. He was the absolute best at what he did.

WWE UNIVERSE: What’s your favorite meal?

DAWSON: Anything my mama cooks. Choosing one is just too hard. But since you're making me choose, I’d say rib eye, potato salad, baked beans and baked mac ‘n’ cheese. As for dessert, a big helping of banana pudding. OH DADA!  WWE UNIVERSE: Why have you nicknamed yourself "Captain Roughneck"?

DAWSON: I get ridiculed for calling myself that. Why? Because I'm from the South? I can't help where I was born. Being a roughneck has nothing to do with where you're from, your race or ethnicity. It's a way of life. If you wake up and work for what you've got, you're a roughneck. If you're making ends meet, but still putting food on your family’s table, you're a roughneck. If you're a single parent raising a kid, two kids or a whole family, then you, too, are a roughneck. No need to be judgmental.

WWE THE BEAST BROCK LESNARWE THE BEAST BROCK LESNAR

After defeating Triple H at SummerSlam, former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar left WWE because, like Alexander the Great long before him, his victory in the midst of “The Perfect Storm” left him with no more worlds to conquer.More than a decade after this nigh-unstoppable behemoth cemented his status as “The Next Big Thing,” questions continue to swirl throughout the WWE Universe regarding Lesnar’s path to WWE, his controversial departure from the organization and his jaw-dropping return in 2012. What prompts a child to grow into one of the most feared athletes on the planet? How did Lesnar hone the skills necessary to become the youngest WWE Champion in history in 2002? What continues to drive this juggernaut now that he has re-entered the sports-entertainment realm after departing WWE last summer?Think you know everything about Brock Lesnar? Delve into this mysterious monster’s past as WWE unveils 10 little-known facts about one of the most indomitable forces ever to step inside the squared circle.

UFC 157 MUSINGS PART-2

Ruthless Rashad Evans. When Rashad evans ' UFC 167 Co-main event win over Chael Sonnen was over, it reminded me of something boxing legend Joe Louis did during his lengthy reign as heavyweight champion. Facing his friend, light heavyweight champion John Henry Lewis, in January of 1939, Louis dropped the challenger three times before the fight ended at 2:29 of the first round. You might say ‘what kind of friend is that?’ but the reality is that the most merciful thing Louis could have done was finish his buddy as quick as possible and not deliver a prolonged beating. This is how I saw Evans-Sonnen. Rashad was the superior fighter last Saturday night, and he went out there and finished the bout as soon as he got the chance.

And if there were any doubts about Evans’ place in the light heavyweight pecking order, his wins over Dan Henderson and Sonnen should have erased them. “Suga” is most certainly back again.  …AND RUTHLESS ROBBIE Speaking of remarkable career turnarounds, none has been as impressive as that of Robbie Lawler. Yeah, the 2013 knockouts of Josh Koscheck and Bobby Voelker were something to see, but when he upset the heir apparent to the welterweight crown, Rory MacDonald, on Saturday night, he went from ‘feel good’ story to legitimate title contender.

If you would have told anyone that after back-to-back losses to Nick Diaz and Evan Tanner in 2004, Lawler was going to be in this position nine years later, there would have been some interesting looks sent in your direction. But he’s done it, and having dealt with him then, during the Strikeforce years, and now, there is a new maturity and focus to the 31-year-old, and an ease in the spotlight that wasn’t there before. If you want to point to someone who’s enjoying the ride, it’s “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler.  TWOOD IN THE STATEMENT MAKING BUSINESS Take away his lackluster (and controversial) decision loss to Jake Shields in June, and Tyron Woodley has one of the most impressive 2013 resumes in the welterweight division, with two first round knockouts of Jay Hieron and Josh Koscheck both making the year’s highlight reel. And when you think about it, if he did get the nod against Shields, we might be talking about “TWood” being a solid member of the title contenders club. As it stands, I think another win over a top ten foe to kick off 2014 puts Woodley in good stead for a late-year run at the belt.  KOS’ FUTURE As one of only four TUF 1 alumni (Mike Swick, Diego Sanchez, Chris Leben are the others) still competing in the Octagon, Josh Koscheck’s knockout loss to Tyron Woodley inevitably brought up the idea that maybe Kos had seen better days, especially with that being his third consecutive defeat and second by knockout. Yet despite Koscheck being 35 and on the other side of a long career, I’m not convinced that he’s done.

Woodley and Robbie Lawler will knock out anyone they catch clean, and there are still those who believe the Lawler stoppage was a bit premature. And if you look at the first loss of the recent trio, Koscheck dropped a split decision to a guy – Johny Hendricks – that many believed should have left the MGM Grand Garden Arena with the welterweight title around his waist. Hey, if Koscheck feels the time is right for him to walk away, then he should. But if not, I say he should at least get one more shot to prove he can still swim with the sharks.

STORY’S TIME I don’t know if anyone throws harder than Rick Story. Just listen to the shots he delivered to Brian Ebersole last Saturday night if you doubt me. It was as impressive a performance as Story has put together thus far, and he’s had more than his share. The question is, will he be able to regain the consistency he had during a six fight winning streak in 2009-11 that saw him defeat Hendricks and Thiago Alves, among others? If he does, 2014 may be the year of “The Horror.”  THE NEW PHENOM I don’t think anyone envied Sergio Pettis as the 20-year-old made his UFC debut against Will Campuzano Saturday night, with him being the brother of lightweight boss Anthony Pettis, but the kid impressed, not just with his talent, but his poise.

This isn’t someone who is going to get rattled easy, and when faced with a hungry veteran looking to prove that he belonged back in the UFC in Campuzano, he didn’t fade or show the UFC jitters. And if he had them, he hid them perfectly en route to a hard-fought but clear-cut victory. The future is going to be fun for the UFC’s latest “Phenom.”  THIS AND THAT Donald Cerrone looked outstanding in his Submission of the Night win over Evan Dunham. Best he’s ever looked? Possibly, as he really put together all aspects of his game to beat an ultra-tough opponent in Dunham…Ali Bagautinov is the latest Russian prospect to make a positive impression in the Octagon, and this influx of quality fighters may be the most underreported but biggest news in MMA this year…Gian Villante finally got in the UFC win column with his TKO of Cody Donovan, adding to the lengthy list of victories put together by Long Islanders in 2013…Solid wins by Jason High, Thales Leites, and Erik Perez keep all three high on the fighters to watch list for 2014.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 R-Truth & Xavier Woods def. 'The Rhinestone Cowboys'

“The Union Jacks” may have gotten a win in the U.K., but 3MB’s latest, Nashville-inspired alter-ego had no such luck when they ran afoul of R-Truth and his new partner, Xavier Woods. The NXT newcomer and PhD candidate got the brunt of the match time, hanging tough against both Drew McIntyre (“nephew of Reba”) and Jinder Mahal. Truth tagged in to reclaim the momentum; the former U.S. Champion set ‘em up and Woods knocked ‘em down, screaming “IT’S MORPHIN’ TIME!” before dispatching McIntyre with his one-two signature maneuver punch of the “Honor Roll” clothesline and “Lost in the Woods” boot to the face.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 REY MYSTERIO RETURNS

Chaos erupted between The Shield, The Wyatt Family, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, The Usos & The Rhodes Brothers last week, and the 12 Superstars found a way to exorcise their frustration in Raw Country’s epic conclusion. Separated into teams of six, the dozen got down and dirty in a 12-Man Tag Team Match that saw the fan favorites fall to a late disadvantage until a surprise Superstar came to save the day. Dissent between The Shield and The Wyatts nearly threatened to destroy their efforts until Bray Wyatt himself mended the fences, uniting his teammates against Bryan for a plus-sized numbers game.

It took a last-ditch tag to Punk by Bryan to re-ignite his team and The Second City Saint shouldered the burden well, cleaning house and dispatching Dean Ambrose with a Go to Sleep after an epic melee ensued. The victory had only just been counted when The Real Americans joined in for a piece of the action and sent Punk, Bryan & Co. into defense mode … at which point Rey Mysterio stormed into the ring and struck Jack Swagger and Luke Harper with a double 619. The mask, as they say, is back.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 Alberto Del Rio confronted World Heavyweight Champion John Cena

Alberto Del Rio has done everything he can to ensure that John Cena walks into Survivor Series as a one-armed man – though for all his deviousness, “Mexico’s Greatest Export” may still not have done enough. Cena seemed to appreciate the gravity of his situation when he addressed the WWE Universe, all the while sporting a sling on his battered arm.

Del Rio was quick to piggyback on Cena’s despair, crashing his address and promising further humiliation in The Champ’s hometown at Survivor Series. The Cenation leader, though, didn’t need two arms to make a statement, throwing off the sling and making a run at The Essence of Excellence. The No. 1 contender barely dodged an Attitude Adjustment and scurried back to safety; all Cena has to do on Sunday is finish the job, but is his body ready for the task?

WWE RAW 18/11/13 Dolph Ziggler def. Damien Sandow

Nobody may know what a Broadway Brawl is, but one thing is indisputable: Dolph Ziggler won it. Thrown into an impromptu match against Damien Sandow by WWE COO Triple H, The Showoff rebounded in style from his loss to Curtis Axel last week, prevailing over the “Uncrowned World Heavyweight Champion” in the heart of Music City. Tossed into a ring that was lined with musical instruments, both Sandow and Ziggler made use of the melodic plunder as weapons; The Enlightened One swung a Fender Stratocaster and Dolph took a fall through an electronic keyboard in the opening minutes alone.

Ziggler took the brunt of the musical pain before he found his footing, countering a guitar to the dome by shattering a fiddle over Sandow’s back. Sandow answered by throwing Dolph into a bass fiddle, but Ziggler channeled the great Todd Rundgren and banged on the drum all day, trapping Sandow inside a bass drum before finishing him off by bringing a guitar down on his trapped opponent.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 The Real Americans def. The Miz & Kofi Kingston

The Miz & Kofi Kingston is a pair to be reckoned with, even by the standards of the mighty Real Americans … at least, it usually is. While the Americans should have faced a big hurdle in their diverse, dynamic opponents, there was more than just the usual trouble in paradise for the former Intercontinental Champions thanks to a surprising move by The Miz. The decisive moment came when Miz – who the Americans had run roughshod over – pulled a decidedly un-awesome move by abandoning Kingston right as he was about to be tagged in. The former WWE Champion’s stunt left Kofi high and dry, and Jack Swagger was more than happy to feast on his vulnerable foe with a bone-wrenching Patriot Lock that forced Kofi to submit.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 Big Show VS Ryback

Big Show followed up on his statement chokeslam of Randy Orton with a big victory on Raw Country, but he’s not nearly out of the woods yet when it comes to his rivalry with The Viper. The giant’s Raw win was hardly a gimme, though, as his opponent – Ryback – made the most of his first-ever crack at the former World Heavyweight Champion, attacking the big man with surprising confidence considering he was dumped as a Paul Heyman Guy

“The Big Guy,” however, didn’t have nearly as much as luck with Show as he did with The Great Khali a couple of weeks back. Despite a late-game push by The Human Wrecking Ball that included a monstrous Shell Shocked to the giant, Show sealed the deal with a KO Punch. Show wasn’t about to amble off to the Grand Ole Opry in peace, though, as The Apex Predator stormed the ring only to be struck down with a giant spear.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 Big E Langston def. Curtis Axel to become the new Intercontinental Champion

Curtis Axel has long come through in the clutch to retain his Intercontinental Championship, but the former Paul Heyman Guy’s luck finally ran dry on Raw Country when he was defeated by one of WWE’s fastest-rising Superstars: Big E Langston. Axel had initially been slated to face the former NXT Champion at the WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff, but an injury to the titleholder put the match on the backburner. He had nowhere to hide on Raw, though, falling victim to Langstson’s smothering strength almost instantly. Axel caught a break by bouncing Big E’s neck off the ropes and quickly pounced on his challenger to regain control of the match. For a moment, it looked as though the champion would prevail, as Axel kept the bout close by matching Langston’s power with his speed. Langston weathered Axel’s storm, though, countering his neckbreaker and sending the champion down to Earth with a Big Ending that was truly, utterly perfect.

WWE RAW 18/11/13 WWE Champion Randy Orton def. Brad Maddox

Alas, the Brad Maddox upset victory to end all upset victories did not happen on Monday Night Raw. The beleaguered General Manager was all but fed on a platter to a fuming Randy Orton, out for vengeance after the events of last week’s power struggle. However – check out the big brain on Brad – Maddox did not go quite so quietly into that goodnight RKO, surprising Orton by bashing The Viper on the head with the microphone and following up with a big DDT, putting the champion on his heels for much longer than anyone probably anticipated from the former referee.

The victory turned out to be both moral and short-lived, though; Orton took about as lightly to the sneak-attack as you might expect, and it wasn’t long before he dismantled Maddox and went to town on his head with the very same microphone, leaving the GM so annihilated the match was called and Orton given the victory.

The WWE Authority responded to the events of last week

Vacation’s over. One week away from the job cost The Authority dearly thanks to a scramble for control amongst their foot soldiers last week on Raw, and Triple H & Stephanie McMahon wasted no time in rectifying the situation when they strolled into Nashville for Raw Country. While WWE Director of Operations Kane was absent from their impromptu disciplinary session, Raw GM Brad Maddox and SmackDown GM Vickie Guerrero were not so lucky: It was decided – after very minimal deliberation – that Vickie would face her old rival AJ Lee, and Maddox would have the honor, so to speak, of battling WWE Champion Randy Orton one-on-one. Godspeed, Mr. Maddox.

UFC 167 Evans vs Chael Sonnen

UFC 167 took place November 16, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Light heavyweight contenders Rashad Evans (19-3-1) and Chael Sonnen (29-14-1) collided in the night's co-headlining bout, which aired live on pay-per-view.

Round 1: Herb Dean is the referee in charge of the action. Sonnen closes the distance immediately and it's stuffed, but Evans' back is against the cage. The two are jockeying for position along the fence. Evans level changes for a takedown and can't get it, but they're still pummeling for inside control. Evans uncorks a right hand and they clinch again. Evans level changes again and is in Sonnen's half guard. Evans cracks Sonnen with an elbow and Sonnen goes base down. Sonnen goes back down and Evans moves to mount. Now Evans has Sonnen's back and he's unleashing a barrage of punches. That's it as Sonnen is helpless and covering up. Referee Dean stops the fight there.

A year of The WWE Shield

No one knew the names of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns one year ago. Now, just uttering “Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta”  the NATO phonetic alphabet spelling of The Shield — can make any Superstar cower in fear.

While fighting to promote their depraved version of justice, The Shield achieved what few, if any, competitors experience in their careers — let alone their rookie campaigns in WWE. Ambrose, Rollins & Reigns seized the US and WWE Tag Team Titles. They decimated legends of the squared circle, including many active and former WWE Champions. And they show no signs of stopping. One year after their controversial debut at Survivor Series 2012, The Shield’s results proved far more effective than anyone in the WWE Universe ever imagined. From influencing the historical course of the WWE Championship to the epic dismantling of a phenomenal Superstar, take a look at 10 moments from a debut year in WWE that successfully transformed three NXT upstarts into The Hounds of Justice.

THE FUTURE FOR GSP

Of course, if you weren’t talking about the controversial verdict in Saturday’s main event, you were likely discussing St-Pierre’s post-fight interview, in which he said he needed to take some time off to deal with personal issues. Being that those issues were not revealed to the media and that they are personal, I’ll leave that topic alone. But my question is, has GSP lost a step or his desire to fight, or both? He said all the right things leading up to the bout, as he always does, but after setting record after record and being the hunted (instead of the hunter) for all these years, what’s left for him to accomplish. He’s been the top welterweight in the world for years, he’s defeated all comers, but the way I saw it, the fire just wasn’t there on Saturday night. Of course, having Johny Hendricks dropping bombs on you can have something to do with that, but to me, the “old” GSP would have taken a few of those shots and then did whatever he needed to do to get the fight to the mat. Yes, Hendricks is a two-time NCAA wrestling champion, but St-Pierre is also considered to have the best MMA wrestling in the game. For the first time in a long time, St-Pierre looked one-dimensional Saturday night, unable to adjust to what was presented to him. Maybe time off will do him good, or perhaps the punishment he took at the hands of Hendricks will light that fire once again for a rematch. Whatever way this saga goes, the next few months should be quite interesting.

GSP-HENDRICKS MUSINGS

OH NO, ANOTHER CONTROVERSIAL DECISION I hate to go along with the crowd, but in the case of Saturday’s UFC 167 main event between Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks, I do have to agree that the challenger, Hendricks, should have gotten the nod by a score of 48-47. The fight was a close and competitive one, and while I can’t see how any 3-2 fight – in either direction – can be a robbery, the right guy should get the win when all is said and done. In practically all of the post-fight analysis, rounds two through five are pretty clear-cut, with GSP taking rounds three and five and Hendricks picking up two and four. The questionable round in a lot of eyes is the first. So do you give Hendricks the round for the more damaging close range strikes, that began marking the champion up early in the frame, or do you give it to St-Pierre for his early takedown and submission attempt? I gave it to Hendricks for the more effective and damaging strikes, and judge Glenn Trowbridge agreed. Judges Sal D’Amato and Tony Weeks gave the round to the champion, and that proved to be the deciding factor in the final verdict, as all three judges agreed on the rest of the four frames. So now the debates begin – well, actually they already started. And while I won’t bore you with endless breakdowns of the fight, I will say that a lot of folks calling this the worst decision in the history of combat sports are way off base. Yes, I think Hendricks should have won, and when the right guy doesn’t get his hand raised, that’s an issue. But…a few people whose opinions I respect thought GSP deservedly got the win, and a lot more people are judging St-Pierre’s face and not the fight. At this point in his long and storied career, St-Pierre is seemingly bleeding and swelling up before Bruce Buffer’s introductions. He can take a helluva shot, but his face is not reacting well to them. So while GSP looked like he got hit by a baseball bat after the fight, Hendricks was unmarked, leading observers to say ‘well, look who won the fight.’ And while the rules of Japan’s PRIDE organization would have likely made Hendricks an easy winner, with the 10 point must system of the unified rules of MMA, the fights are scored by rounds, not cumulatively, and when it comes to rounds, this was a fight that likely came down to how you scored the first one.

The Shield’s WWE debut still resonates in the WWE Universe

The fate of the WWE Championship hung in the balance.  That was the moment when The Shield decided to strike at Survivor Series 2012. The threesome did not issue any cryptic statements teasing their presence at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, or seek out a veteran mentor to direct their path into WWE. They emerged with no fanfare; in fact, it took 16-year WWE announcer Michael Cole several minutes to merely identify the invaders.  Yet that trio — Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns — chose to make their WWE debut when the spotlight shone the brightest: during a highly-anticipated WWE Championship Triple Threat Match at a marquee pay-per-view. They stepped forward just as Ryback, another newcomer, left fellow challenger John Cena feeling Shell Shocked while WWE Champion CM Punk lay prone on the ring apron. A pinfall felt like a formality at that point, as did the announcement of Ryback as the new WWE Champion.

Too bad Ryback didn’t see The Shield coming. In fact, nobody did. Save for their collective FCW and NXT accomplishments and the occasional “Dean Ambrose debut imminent” prediction on squared circle internet forums, no one even had reason to suspect Ambrose, Rollins & Reigns would make waves in WWE before the end of 2012.  They would learn quickly. Everyone did.  The Hounds of Justice swarmed in together from the south end of the ring, racing to ravage the one Superstar still standing. They pummeled Ryback with as many strikes as they could muster, then dragged the freshman brute to the ringside floor.  With no one around to halt their invasion, the ring raiders picked up Ryback and put him through the announce table with a savage triple powerbomb. Cole, along with JBL, Jerry Lawler and the horrified WWE fans in attendance, could do nothing but watch the carnage play out.

Survivor Series 2012 closed with CM Punk retaining the WWE Title by pinning the still-Shell Shocked Cena, with Ryback knocked out at ringside. That ending became the first example of justice as defined by The Shield.  More three-man powerbombs followed in the weeks and months to come, as did the rationale for what makes The Hounds of Justice tick. They found other ways to influence the WWE Title picture and later clinched championship gold of their own, all the while justifying their tactics as the only way to purge WWE of its ills.

If any doubters questioned their capabilities, The Hounds of Justice needed only point to the impact they had in Indianapolis on that November night. CM Punk’s WWE Title reign evolved from impressive to historic as it lasted for 434 days, the longest run in the last quarter-century. John Cena missed his chance to return to the top in WWE and had to trudge uphill to WrestleMania 29 to find redemption. Ryback discovered a predatory instinct that mutated him into one of the most destructive forces to ever set foot in a ring.  Did The Shield bring justice during their first year in WWE? Do the ends justify the controversial and often vicious means used by Ambrose, Rollins & Reigns since their first attack? Will The Hounds of Justice restore balance in their sophomore year, or ramp up the destructive efforts against all who question them?  The future of the WWE Universe hangs in the balance.

This turned out to be a ploy, though, for when Cena dropped the Mexican Superstar’s arm for the second time, Del Rio unleashed a fevered assault that ended with the Cenation leader being put through a table!

The Great Khali def. Hunico & Camacho in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match Returning to SmackDown after a long absence, Hunico & Camacho asked General Manager Vickie Guerrero for a little action. When the lights returned, The Wyatt Family appeared to spoil the party. While they were in the ring, however, Punk and Bryan were both gone!  Meanwhile, as Axel tried to revive Ryback, the disoriented Big Guy pushed his partner into the creepy faction, leading Harper and Rowan to attack the titleholder and The Human Wrecking Ball. But, after they exiled their prey from the ring, “The Beard with The Best” suddenly reappeared from hiding and scored a hit-and-run attack on their pay-per-view opponents.

GSP motions to retirement after controversial win at UFC 167

Long-reigning UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (GSP) has strongly indicated that he'll retire from MMA after defeating Johny Hendricks via controversial split decision at UFC 167 today.
According to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, an avalanche of MMA fans on social media and the entire team here at MMA Kanvas, GSP did not defeat Johny Hendricks today, but alas, he walked away with his UFC welterweight belt firmly in hand.
Hendricks appeared to effectively use his heavy hands and renowned wrestling to get the better of his Canadian opponent for most of today's contest but the judges saw things differently, awarding St-Pierre the split decision victory in what will likely be labelled one of the most controversial decisions in MMA history.
Post-fight, St-Pierre revealed that his opponent Hendricks had hurt him with some savage blows early, resulting in some memory loss from the fight.
"(That was) without a doubt my toughest fight, wow. I lost memory a bit in the fight. I couldn’t see with one of my eyes, he really messed me up. I wasn’t surprised… I got caught a couple of times," he said.
"He was very good at counter my gameplan. He closed one of my eyes with one of his strikes, he hits very hard," he continued.
GSP then dropped a bomb-shell that will dominate MMA headlines for the near future - the most popular fighter in MMA wants to set away from the sport and potentially retire.
"I need to hang up my glove for a little bit. I have to go away for a little bit. Right away, I have to go away for a little bit.Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
A gutted Johny Hendricks however, was having none of it, requesting a rematch for a belt that he thought he had earned fair and square in the Octagon.
"I thought I clearly won the fight. Hey, did you guys see the same fight I just fought? George is a great champion but I'm coming back, I'll get that belt, it’s mine. I fought hard, I countered him, he didn’t land anything strong on me, it just wasn’t my night. I want it (a rematch), that’s what I just earned but it was taken away from me. I swear to god that wont happen again."
