Quick Weight Loss

10 Stomach Flattening Foods

The best way to achieve a flat stomach is through a healthy, low-calorie diet and plenty of exercise. But if you want to speed the process along, try incorporating some of these foods into your meals. Not only do they relieve water retention, but they also help to stave off cravings, boost your metabolism and keep you feeling fuller for longer.

Almonds
Not only are almonds packed full of skin-boosting vitamin E and protein, but their high fibre content stops you feeling hungry. In 2007, researchers at Purdue University also reported that – despite the fact they are relatively high in calories – almonds themselves do not contribute to belly fat. Swap out your usual mid-morning snack for a handful and see if it makes a difference.

Leafy Greens
The quickest way to flatten a stubborn stomach? Include a portion of leafy green vegetables at every meal. Kale, spinach and romaine lettuce are all extremely low in calories, full of fibre and offer several vital vitamins and minerals that help to ease water retention without causing the bloating and discomfort that some other vegetables might do.

Oats
Oats are filling, which makes it hard to believe that they can help you lose weight. But eating a portion in the morning for breakfast as part of a low-calorie diet is a great way to provide your body with slow-release, natural energy throughout the day, which keeps you feeling fuller for longer and can even lower your cholesterol.

Olive Oil
Mad but true – fat CAN help you to lose weight. Poly unsaturated fats like those found in olive oil can stave off hunger pains, while olive oil itself contains a naturally-occurring chemical called oleic acid, which aids the breakdown of excess fats in the body.

Beans
Each tiny bean is packed with nutrients, including protein and fibre, while remaining low in calories and full of slow-release energy. This means you’ll feel fuller, while the high protein content will help firm up your muscles and keep you toned. Swap out burgers for burritos, and beef chilli for bean chilli.

Peppermint
Peppermint is known for its potent healing and calming digestive properties, so if you’re looking to slim down your stomach, it makes sense to start including it in your diet. The easiest way to do this is to drink it in tea form, so pick up a box from your local supermarket (organic if possible) and try drinking three cups a day. Great for clearing the skin, too!

Green Tea
Addicted to your builder’s brew? It may be time for a change. Swopping to green tea has been found to assist the body in flushing out excess fluids, helping to calm bloating around the stomach caused by water retention. What’s more, it has been found to speed up the metabolism, which can aid the burning of excess fat in the body.

Apple Cider Vinegar
If you’re looking for a quick fix body detox, try adding a few capfuls of apple cider vinegar to your meals. It acts as a digestive tonic, helping to slay off harmful bacteria in the intestines, flush out toxins and relieve water retention around the stomach. Try adding some to vegetables during cooking or as a dressing over salad.

Cranberry Juice
As well as high levels of antioxidizing vitamin C, cranberry juice has fantastic diuretic properties. This means that it encourages the body to get rid of excess fluids through excretion (going to the toilet). Swap out your morning OJ for a glass of sugar-free, all natural cranberry instead.

Tomatoes
Delicious, full of antioxidants, AND they help you to lose weight? Tomatoes are definitely among our favourite fat-fighting foods. Tomatoes have been found to reduce inflammation and water retention in the body, as well as reversing leptin resistance. Leptin is a type of protein which helps to regulate metabolic rate and appetite, so our bodies rely on it to shed those extra pounds.

Lose 5 Pounds of body weight in a Week

Aktar has come up with a fat-torching plan that really will subtract up to 5 pounds from your bod in seven days — without starvation, bizarre supplements, or cutting out entire food groups. How? It's all about small sacrifices combined with specific techniques. And rather than giving you a one-size-fits-all regimen, we figure you're more likely to stick with the plan if you pick the eating and exercise strategies that fit your lifestyle.   So choose at least four of the nutritionist- and fitness expert-backed tips that follow, and vow to work them into your schedule for seven days straight. If you feel ambitious, tack on a few more. The more you pick, the more weight you'll lose. If you start now, by this time next week, you'll look and feel way lighter.

drink Mainly Water -A sports or energy drink, fruit smoothie, or light beer — each serving contains about 100 calories. Yet these beverages don't satisfy you the way 100 calories of food does, so they're a waste. Other liquids may be high in sodium and carbohydrates, which trick your body into retaining water, puffing you out.   Water, on the other hand, has zero calories and carbs and little to no sodium, making it the perfect slim-down drink. And strangely, it actually helps flush out excess water weight as well as jump-starts your metabolism. If it's just too boring, add lemon wedges or mint leaves.

5 Things You Must Know to Lose Weight

If you want to lose weight, you're not alone. While there are many things you can do to shed pounds, losing weight too quickly can be dangerous. Fad diets, diet pills, and fasting may help you reduce the number on the scale, but these methods can cause severe health complications.  However, if you are generally healthy and you're determined to drop several pounds quickly, there are some techniques and tips you can adopt to help you reach your short-term goals.

The purpose of most fad diets is to promote rapid weight loss that you can see almost overnight. Fad diets are short-term solutions; if you stay on a fad diet for more than a few days, you could cause your body serious harm. You should always consult your healthcare provider before beginning any kind of weight loss program to make sure your body can take the added strain to its system. Here are some popular fad diets with simple instructions that claim to result in fast, short-term weight loss.

1. The Water Diet[1]. This diet involves drinking a daily total of about 64 fluid ounces (8 cups) of cold (preferably refrigerated) water, at regular intervals. Drink a glass of water before each meal and before each snack to suppress your appetite by making you feel fuller. Do not add sweeteners or flavorings to your water. Do not replace meals with water. Take a daily multivitamin to replenish the nutrients lost through more frequent urination.

2. Juice Detox Diet, Juice Fast, or Hollywood Diet[2]. Although there are many variations on a juice detoxification fast or crash diet, they generally last for one to three days. You can only drink fruit and vegetable juices on this type of fad diet. Some variations of this diet involve taking vitamins or nutrients along with the juices, while others let you have a single meal per day. The juices are meant to help your body flush out toxins and eliminate several pounds of (mostly) water weight from your system.[3]

3. The Master Cleanse, Maple Syrup Diet, or Lemonade Diet[4]. This fad diet is a liquid-only diet. Drink between 6 to 12 glasses of a special mixture of lemonade, cayenne pepper, water, and maple syrup each day. You will also drink a cup of herbal laxative tea twice a day. There is an optional period of easing into this fad diet, as well as an easing-out process. It should only be done for very short-term weight loss and is supposed to function as a detoxifying cleanse rather than a strict weight-loss routine. There is also an optional salt-water flush that can be incorporated into this diet.

4. Don’t skip meals. Eating a healthy breakfast increases your rest metabolic rate earlier in the day, keeps your energy levels high, and may help you resist the urge of high-calorie snacks throughout the day. Plan to eat a snack or meal every 2 to 4 hours to keep your metabolism active. Eating regularly also keeps your blood sugar stable and reduces unhealthy calorie binges or deviations from your meal plan.

5. Snack smartly. Swap potato chips and candy bars for snacks that are nutrient-rich and low in calories and fat. Avoid processed and packaged foods when possible, or buy snacks that have single-serving packets of 100 to 200 calories. Healthy and easy snacks include nuts, rice cakes, fresh or dried fruits, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, and so on. Vegetables are generally very low in calories, very high in fiber, and full of flavor and nutrition, but avoid fatty dressings or dips. Fruit provides a good source of soluble fiber, releasing energy more slowly and keeping you feeling full longer. Low-fat dairy products, such as yogurt or cheddar cheese, can also be healthy snacks in moderation. Try combining string cheese with a handful of grapes, spreading peanut butter on a few crackers, or dipping sliced red pepper into a few tablespoons of hummus.

10 Effective Weight Loss Tips

1. Dietary control and exercise. It’s true what they say – all you need to do is watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. You can quit reading this list now, you now know everything you need to know and didn’t need to fork over $500 for the privilege of me telling you the secret of losing weight. You don’t need to read a 4,000 page book, you don’t have to buy a tape series, you don’t need to stay up late at night to watch infomercials to understand this basic premise. It’s 100% true.

2. Women aren’t men. It’s been proven that men can lose weight more rapidly than women can, which is likely due to our physiological makeup (women are supposed to have more fat than men, because they’re the birthing gender). This isn’t a sexist statement to make – it’s pretty much the truth. As such, females should expect to set separate goals than males – especially if you’re working on losing weight together, side by side.

3. Ignore Ronald McDonald. You don’t have to eliminate fast food completely, but you should avoid it at all costs. Most of it is nasty, bad stuff anyway – if you’d even go as far as to call it food. If you’re looking for convenience, find a more convenient meal source. Besides, most of what they serve would be considered “food product,” not food. There’s a gigantic difference as far as your body is concerned. Your bloodstream does not have taste buds, need I remind you?

4. Scale up. If your measurement tool sucks, upgrade it. If it’s analog, dump it. I’ve talked to many geeks about their choice in scales, and most of them (myself included) recommend something in the Tanita family. They’re high-quality, rugged, accurate devices. Make sure you set your scale on a hard surface, too (as carpet foundations do not make for accurate weight measurements).

5. Sleep it off. To be an efficient fat-burning machine, your body requires at least eight hours of sleep a night. If you think that you’re doing yourself a favor by sleeping less, you’re mistaken. Give your body time to rest itself, both mentally and physically. Sleep is very, very important (if only for mental alertness for the following day). If you feel tired, that’s likely your body’s way of saying: “Shut your eyes, stupid!”

 6. Become your own snack fairy. It’s okay to snack between meals, really. Small meals throughout the day are enough to keep you satisfied, as (much like the sensation of being full) you never want to feel hungry. Let your body know it’s going to get a regular regimen of calories. Plus, if you starve yourself for the regular meals, you’re probably going to eat more before your brain tells your mouth to stop. Think about it: breakfast, lunch, and dinner are social constructs at their very core.

7. Love the oil companies. Just like your car needs high-quality oil, so too does your body. Not all oils were created equal, though it’s hotly contested which ones are better for you than others. Personally, I love a good olive oil – it’s 100% natural and is rich with Omega 9 fatty acids. Enova is another one that we’ve found to work quite well in our lifestyle at home. Choose your oil wisely, though – your weight loss goal should be more than simply cosmetic. It’s a good rule of thumb when it comes to food: the more natural something is, the better it is for you.

8. Fat is where it’s at. If you think you can lose weight and keep it off by avoiding all fats, you’re sadly mistaken. In fact, if you think that low fat eating is the only way to go, you might as well just quit now. Your body (and your brain) needs fat to survive! This is why the scientists call “them” essential fatty acids – Omegas 3, 6, and 9. These fats have been stripped from many supermarket shelf items, and it’s your responsibility to put fat back into your dietary plan. Don’t avoid eating fat, embrace it – equally.

9. Bring balance to the force. If you eat the same foods over and over again, you’re going to get bored – unless they’re foods you really, really like. Feel free to change it up – keep your tongue happy. Balance carbs with proteins with fats, though. If you have more of one nutrient for one meal, try more of another nutrient for the next. And for heaven’s sake, don’t just shop in the “diet” section of the store. You can still (likely) eat the same things you’ve always eaten, just not so much of them at any one time.

10. Know your daily calorie limit. When I was in the process of losing weight, it was suggested that I stay under 1700 calories a day. Knowing that number was half the battle. I could eat anything I wanted throughout the day, so long as I would stay at or beneath that number. While I couldn’t track 100% of the items I ate, I was able to make intake estimates – and adjust my schedule and ration my remaining calories accordingly. In this sense, you’re given extreme freedom – so long as you stay at or beneath that suggested calorie level for your plan. If you don’t know how much you’re supposed to take in, how are you supposed to know how much you’re supposed to take in?! Sounds redundant, but it’s a situation that many “dieters” are in (which is why they fail)!

The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar Wrestlemania 30

Since returning to WWE nearly two years ago, Brock Lesnar has basked in his wanton destruction, whether it was breaking the arms of WWE Legends, decimating Big Show with chairs or bringing Triple H to the brink of retirement.  At WrestleMania 30, however, the self-proclaimed No. 1 contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will stare down perhaps his gravest challenge yet: The Undertaker.

The Deadman shockingly confronted The Beast Incarnate on the Feb. 24 edition of Raw. The Undertaker’s unannounced appearance came as Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman — given the opportunity by The Authority to name Lesnar’s WrestleMania opponent — were prepared to turn down Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's offer.  To Lesnar and Heyman’s surprise, WWE's one and only Deadman emerged. Seemingly changing his mind on the spot, Lesnar made no hesitation to sign the open contract before shoving a pen into Undertaker's chest. The Deadman took umbrage at The Beast's gesture, slamming the pen down into Lesnar's hand before chokeslamming him through a table in the middle of the ring. As The Undertaker gazed at the WrestleMania 30 sign that looms over the squared circle, the WWE Universe buzzed as the battle between the two juggernauts became official.

As the keeper of WWE’s most extraordinary record going today, a flawless 21-0 WrestleMania Streak, The Undertaker has proven to be all but unbeatable at The Grandest Stage of Them All. Will the same be true when he faces the Heyman-coached Anomaly?  Even though it has been more than a decade since their last battle, The Undertaker and Lesnar are familiar foes, having famously warred during The Beast Incarnate’s first run in WWE.  Now, the rematch that long seemed hypothetical will become a reality at The Showcase of The Immortals. Heyman insists his charge is the rightful top contender to WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, and a victory over The Undertaker at WrestleMania, of all places, might be all the proof The Authority needs to agree. Yet, the opportunity for greatness is pocked with severe risk: Twenty-one times, The Undertaker has turned back challenges from WWE’s top Superstars, from Triple H to Randy Orton to Shawn Michaels, at WrestleMania. Might the newest addition to the list be a Beast that has bested him before?

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match 2014

If WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton thought his Road to WrestleMania would be without peril, The Face of WWE found out on the Jan. 27 edition of Raw that cruise control will not be an option.  On Sunday, Feb. 23, Orton will put the title on the line against five Superstars — including Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Sheamus, Cesaro and Christian — in an Elimination Chamber Match, live on pay-per-view. Bryan, Cena and Sheamus qualified for the contest after the interfering Wyatt Family cost The Shield the win in a Six-Man Tag Team Match on Raw Jan. 27. Cesaro and Christian, meanwhile, won qualifying matches against Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, respectively, on the Jan. 31 edition of SmackDown.

Although the methodical WWE World Heavyweight Champion has competed in five previous Elimination Chamber contests, he has never won inside the steel combat zone, making the setting of Feb. 23’s high-stakes bout all the more intriguing.  The Cenation leader, on the other hand, has won three of the four Elimination Chamber Matches in which he’s competed. Daniel Bryan has also tasted victory inside the inhospitable cage, winning one of his two journeys inside the Chamber.  Sheamus, who returned to action at Royal Rumble after several months on the disabled list, will enter the Elimination Chamber for the third time in his WWE career on Feb. 23. The three-time World Champion has never prevailed inside the structure.  In Cesaro and Christian, the Feb. 23 WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match boasts two Elimination Chamber first-timers. A former United States Champion, Cesaro — arguably WWE’s strongest competitor, pound-for-pound — will be competing for his first World Title on pay-per-view.  Whatever the Swiss-born Real American lacks in World Title Match experience, however, is more than offset by Captain Charisma, a two-time World Heavyweight Champion whose second reign began with a victory over The Viper in July 2011. Having fought in WWE for more than a decade, there aren’t many match types Christian hasn’t experienced. On Feb.23, he’ll cross another off his list when he enters the Chamber.  Now that the match participants have been named, the WWE Universe looks ahead to one of the most dynamic lineups in Elimination Chamber Match history. Which Superstar will leave Minneapolis’ Target Center with sports-entertainment’s biggest prize? To find out, watch all the action of WWE Elimination Chamber when it airs live on pay-per-view Sunday

Raw Five-Point Preview: February 17, 2014 Page 1

It’s one week until Elimination Chamber, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton is sweating. He probably won’t admit it, but he’s in dire straits after being defeated by three of his five Elimination Chamber Match opponents in one-on-one matches, and his toughest fight is still yet to come in the Elimination Chamber Match itself. While The Viper tries to save face, Jack Swagger has made a huge power play and Daniel Bryan defied Authority orders to make an example out of Kane. What will happen on Monday’s Raw when these Superstars’ paths to Elimination Chamber reach a fever pitch?

Batista vs Alberto Del Rio

Before he makes it to WrestleMania XXX for his WWE World Heavyweight Title opportunity, Batista will meet a dangerous opponent at WWE Elimination Chamber when he takes on former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio.  The encounter will be a personal one for The Animal who had a heated exchange with The Mexican Aristocrat via social media before he even returned to WWE. After being dismissed by Del Rio during an in-ring tirade, Batista tweeted, “So I hear Alberto Del Rio is talking trash. Just one question ... Who the hell is Alberto Del Rio?!!!” When the former amateur wrestler and mixed martial artist responded with an insulting comment about Batista’s sole MMA fight, the stage was set for an epic showdown before The Animal’s Air Jordans had even hit the mat.  On his first night back in WWE, Batista immediately targeted Del Rio and drilled him into the mat with a punishing Batista Bomb. The two crossed paths again in the Royal Rumble Match where The Animal launched his rival over the top rope en route to his huge victory. It seemed as though their enmity quieted after that with Batista focusing on the WWE World Heavyweight Title Match he earned at the Rumble, but things began to heat up again on the Feb. 2 Raw, when Batista was interrupted — and sucker punched — by the eely elitist.  On the Feb. 10 Raw, an enraged Batista hit Del Rio with a vicious Batista Bomb, sending his rival through the announce table. Afterward, WWE COO Triple H told The Animal he must keep him in the ring because it's best for business, so he could have Del Rio at Elimination Chamber. But, for a villain like Del Rio, an opponent’s rage can often be manipulated into psychological weakness. Will that be the case when The Animal meets The Aristocrat? Find out on Sunday, Feb. 23, at Elimination Chamber.

John Cena becomes most-liked U.S. athlete on Facebook

WWE Superstar John Cena has passed Kobe Bryant to become the most-liked active U.S. athlete on Facebook, with more than 18.6 million followers.    Cena is the No. 7 most-followed athlete in the world on Facebook and has more followers than Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Roger Federer. The Cenation leader also has more Facebook followers than Kevin Durant, Michael Phelps and Tony Hawk combined.  WWE has eclipsed 260 million fans through its global social media networks, further cementing its position as one of the most followed brands in the world. Currently, WWE has more than 172 million Facebook fans and 82 million Twitter followers across all of its networks. WWE’s network of Facebook pages has more followers than the NFL and its 32 teams’ pages combined.

Similarly, The Shield seemed to be coming apart at the seams last week; now, in the face of a new enemy, they’ve cried unity more than ever before. Antonio Cesaro’s five tips to get in shape now!

At 6-foot-5 and 232 pounds, Antonio Cesaro boasts an awesome combination of athleticism and power. He’s made a habit out of tossing fellow Superstars around the ring with his dizzying Cesaro Swing. As he prepares to contend for his first World Title in the Elimination Chamber Match, we caught up with the former U.S. Champion to get his five tips for getting in the best shape of your life right now.

1. Be honest with yourself
"Be honest with yourself and don't make excuses, which means you have to be accountable. Don't eat bad food. Only eat good food. Don't say, 'Oh, it doesn't matter if I ate bad once.' No. You never eat bad, and you get in the habit of eating good."

2. Get into habits
"Go to the gym every day and build a routine. You get in that routine and it takes about two months to build a habit or a routine. So you stick with it, and once you stick with it, then you have a good diet and a good routine."

3. Stick to the basics
"Stick to the basic exercises and do them well. You don't have to worry about doing a bicep curl on a BOSU (exercise) ball while squatting down. You have to worry about doing basic maneuvers."

4. Master the core lifts
“Keep things simple. Do squats, deadlifts and some kind of press. Base your routine around those lifts.”

5. Have fun!
"Finally, have fun. If these tips don't sound like fun to you, then you're probably not as motivated as you think you are to get in shape."

WWE Elimination Chamber 2014 The Shield Vs The Wyatt Family

They’ve never been stronger. There’s no dissension in the ranks, no confusion as to the nature of their mission. Everything is going according to plan. Reassurances like this are all the WWE Universe has heard from The Shield over the last few months. Even while the group seems to teeter on the edge of an internal blowup, even when Roman Reigns tosses his teammates in the Royal Rumble Match and even as Dean Ambrose touts himself as “The Baddest Man in The Shield,” the song has been the same: We are united.  For their sake, that had better be true, because at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, they’ll have to deal with The Wyatt Family.  The stories of WWE’s two three-man wrecking crews couldn’t be more opposite at this point. The Shield members, little more than a year removed from being ambitious, talented rookies, have each become stars in their own right. Ambrose is the longest-reigning titleholder in WWE, having clutched the U.S. Championship since last May. Rollins has made believers out of anyone who crosses his path. And Roman Reigns not only set a new Royal Rumble Match record for the most eliminations in a single melee, but he also came within a Hound’s hair of beating Batista to main event WrestleMania XXX.  With that success, though, comes the threat of inflating egos, and dissent — however quiet, and however much they’d deny it — has found its way into the Hounds’ doghouse. A miscue here, a minor spat there, and The Shield seems just a little bit more vulnerable than they’d care to admit. Even if they’re the odds-on favorite in every Six-Man Tag Team Match they enter, the men in black’s greatest threat has seemingly reared its head from within.  Which brings us to The Wyatts. Only on the scene six months, the depraved cultists have methodically massacred Superstars of all shapes and sizes. Kane was nearly sent to oblivion, Kofi Kingston destroyed, The Miz all but sacrificed and Daniel Bryan brutally dispatched after he dared to defy the Family by joining it (only to turn on them when the opportunity presented itself). Most recently, they cost John Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, proving their ambitions know no bounds. There’s also no confusion as to the pecking order: Erick Rowan & Luke Harper act as a hive mind, marching under the orders of Bray Wyatt himself. No titles, no records to muddy the waters. There is Bray’s word, and everyone else is the enemy.  Now, the enemy is The Shield. The match was demanded by The Hounds of Justice after The Wyatts cost them a chance to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Title inside the Elimination Chamber. The Wyatts likely see it as an opportunity to dismantle another dominant force. Given their record of late, it’s not out of the question.  The Shield, meanwhile, likely see it as the final piece of their plan: Take out the faction many in the WWE Universe predicted would cross their paths. Despite The Wyatts’ ascendancy, The Shield still, ostensibly, runs the roost in WWE. For the first time, they are the veterans, not the newcomers. Victory is within their grasp. All they have to do now is believe.

23, Orton will put the title on the line against five Superstars — including Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Sheamus, Antonio Cesaro and Christian — in an Elimination Chamber Match, live on pay-per-view.

The Road to WrestleMania

In addition to being the official first stop on The Road to WrestleMania, the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view is a time-tested, fan-favorite event. Even more beloved amongst the denizens of the WWE Universe is the Royal Rumble Match itself, where 30 Superstars vie for their chance at glory — a spot in the main event at WrestleMania.    The over-the-top-rope melee holds a special place in the hearts of fans across the world, and with good reason — with each year come new and unforgettable moments. And the 2014 edition of the Royal Rumble Match lived up to the standards set by the storied history of the bout.  So, after taking some time to take stock of the 30-Superstar classic, WWE.com breaks down the battle and presents the five coolest moments from this year's Royal Rumble Match.

'Can ya fight?' Superstars dish on their unique training styles

The first rule of Superstar Fight Club is you don’t talk about Superstar Fight Club. But if you have to talk about it, don’t sell yourself short. The sports-entertainment world is ripe with big personalities and bigger muscles and in order to survive, you need to be more than a little tough. So it’s probably a good thing for WWE Superstars that they didn’t just waltz into a wrestling ring without some true hardscrabble fighting under their belts. Riding a wave of uncommon bravery we haven’t felt before or since, WWE stepped into the locker room and sought out a handful of these individuals for their training, their tips, who they wouldn’t want to fight and which among them channeled Triple H on the amateur mat. (Hint: It’s not who you’d expect.)

23, Orton will put the title on the line against five other Superstars — including Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Sheamus — in an Elimination Chamber Match, live on pay-per-view. Kofi Kingston’s leap of faith

First it was the hand-walk of 2012, then it was his chair hop of 2013.  This year, Kofi Kingston thrilled the WWE Universe by jumping from the barricade — located quite a ways up the ramp — and vaulting himself onto the ring apron in a stunning leap of faith to stay in the melee a while longer. Then, later in the bout, Kofi once again hung on — literally by his shoelaces — to avoid elimination.  Sure, he was launched clear over the top rope by Roman Reigns, but The Wildcat once again left an indelible mark on the Royal Rumble Match.

WWE fines Brock Lesnar

Following his actions toward the referee at Sunday’s Royal Rumble event, WWE has fined Brock Lesnar $10,000. The ruling came down less than 48 hours after The Anomaly delivered an onslaught to Big Show at the pay-per-view in Pittsburgh. His tirade continued the next night on Raw when a furious Lesnar attacked former WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust.

WWE ROYAL RUMBLE RETURNS 2014

The first Royal Rumble shocker came at No. 14 when the massive Kevin Nash returned to WWE and immediately eliminated Jack Swagger before going after both Rollins and Dean Ambrose at the same time. Big Sexy didn’t last long, though, as the No. 15 entrant — Roman Reigns — tossed Nash, Kofi and Dolph Ziggler in short order. It was just the beginning of what would become a legendary Rumble Match performance for the muscle of The Shield.

The surprises continued from there as Goldust eliminated his brother, Cody, and Reigns eliminated Goldust, leaving Punk alone in the ring with all three members of The Shield. Just when it looked like a public mugging was about to transpire, the clock struck zero and Sheamus made his return as the 17th entrant. Clearly not intimidated by The Hounds of Justice, the fiery Irishman went right for the trio with wild haymakers like he was in the middle of a Dublin pub brawl.  The smallest Rumbler entered at No. 20 as El Torito charged into the squared circle and picked a fight with Punk. The Straight Edge Superstar may have dismissed the little bull, but that was before he had been nearly flipped out of his boots by a hurricanrana. The luchador even scored an elimination when he launched Fandango over the rope with a flying headscissors, but he was then nearly hurled into the mezzanine by Reigns.

The mayhem continued from there as JBL left the commentary table at No. 24, and entered the ring in a shirt and tie. Yet by the time he handed off his coat to Michael Cole, he was sacked by the domineering Reigns. Despite his limited appearance, JBL still inspired chants of “You still got it!” from the WWE Universe.

Batista won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match

In his first match back after a nearly four-year absence from WWE, Batista proved he hadn’t lost any of his killer instinct as he eliminated Roman Reigns to win the 2014 Royal Rumble Match. With his epic victory — his second in the 27-year history of the over-the-top-rope melee — Batista began his deliberate march toward WrestleMania XXX, where he will attempt to achieve the one goal that led to his return: win the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

It was a commanding performance from The Animal, who entered the fray at No. 28 and eliminated four Superstars to stand tall. Long before that, however, it was CM Punk who kicked things off, entering at No. 1 for the second time in his career before displaying the kind of marathon man endurance that made Royal Rumble Match icons out of WWE Hall of Famers like Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels. First squaring off with No. 2 entrant Seth Rollins, Punk scored the bout’s first eliminations by dumping Damien Sandow and Kane, who entered the match in slacks and dress shoes.  WWE NXT standout Alexander Rusev — a Bulgarian powerlifter with scary agility — made a shocking entrance in the No. 6 spot, and manhandled Punk, Rollins and Cody Rhodes with the clout of a ring veteran. For a brief period of time, the rookie became an unexpected favorite until the combined efforts of four Superstars took the brute out of the match.

Before the big man left the ringside area, however, Punk tossed Kofi Kingston, who landed in Rusev’s arms. The Bulgarian strongman planted Kingston on the barricade, but the high-flyer’s feet never touched the floor. As he did in his last two Royal Rumble Matches, Kofi found a way to survive as he balanced himself atop the thin railing, took a running start and miraculously jumped back onto the ring apron.

WWE SMACKDOWN 24/1/14 Big Show & Rey Mysterio def. The Real Americans

Big Show & Rey Mysterio kicked off SmackDown, battling The Real Americans with an awesome display of speed and power. Though Antonio Cesaro is known for his incredible acts of strength, in the end, it was The World’s Largest Athlete who hurled both his opponents to the canvas at the same time. This set up the giant’s KO Punch on Cesaro

However, as big a statement as their tag team triumph made, the final word on the matter came from the emerging Paul Heyman, who informed Big Show that he would “suffer” and be “subjugated” at the hands of Brock Lesnar this Sunday at the Royal Rumble event.

Batista returned to confront WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton

Randy Orton has riled up his enemy, he’s alienated his handlers, and before the first ten minutes of Raw had gone by, he’d found himself inside the pit of danger when an old friend came back to say hello. Indeed, the Champion of Champions’ first moments on the final Raw before the Royal Rumble were hardly his finest: not only did his petulant attitude rub The Authority the wrong way but WWE COO Triple H all but vowed to throw Orton to the wolves once John Cena – likely spoiling for a fight after Orton attacked his father last week – arrived, but Batista’s return added another bullseye to The Viper’s back.

Despite Orton’s attempts to play nice when The Animal did make his return, the former WWE Champion made his intentions clear: to take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, no matter who held it, and headline WrestleMania 30. And on top of everything else, Orton was given a match with noted Viper-killer Kofi Kingston later in the evening to help him "make it right." After a meeting like that, it's likely he could use the opportunity.

Royal Rumble 2014 predictions

Royal Rumble is rightfully held in high regard as one of WWE’s most thrilling pay-per-views of the year, and the 2014 edition is no exception. Featuring a WWE World Heavyweight Title showdown between longtime rivals Randy Orton and John Cena, Brock Lesnar’s first match since last August, Batista’s return after a nearly four-year absence and the incomparable Royal Rumble Match, and Sunday’s big event feels positively monumental.

But who will win and who will lose? Which Superstar will withstand the 30-Superstar over-the-top melee to main-event a WWE World Heavyweight Title Match at WrestleMania XXX? These were the debates happening on the WWE floor this week. Check out who we predict will come out on top this Sunday!

Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar Royal Rumble 2014

On Jan. 26 at Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar returns to a WWE ring for a fight, though his opposition will not be any ordinary Superstar but rather a true giant in the form of the 7-foot, 425-pound Big Show. Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, accepted a challenge issued by The World’s Largest Athlete on SmackDown, clearing the path for a colossal fight between arguably WWE’s two most intimidating warriors.  The turbulent Lesnar surprisingly reappeared on the last Raw of 2013 to not only name himself the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but to also brutalize Mark Henry — a punishing act he repeated the following week, fracturing Henry’s arm and dislocating his elbow with the Kimura Lock. Moments later, Big Show stormed the ring and made The Beast Incarnate look uncharacteristically human, tossing the former mixed martial artist’s nearly 300-pound frame across the ring.

Big Show has since dispelled the notion he was trying to be heroic, instead stating simply that he has disliked Lesnar since The Beast Incarnate’s initial stint in WWE a decade ago. Even though the two juggernauts collided back then, both Superstars are different, more evolved, combatants now: Lesnar’s fighting game in 2014 is informed by his experience dominating the Octagon, while Show has added the lethal KO Punch to his already XXL-sized arsenal.  Even if the 30-man Royal Rumble Match wasn’t taking place on Jan. 26, the ring would still have to be reinforced to accommodate this monstrous matchup. As the WWE Universe remembers well, a June 2003 altercation between The World’s Largest Athlete and the Superstar then dubbed The Next Big Thing was so massive and so intense that it literally broke a WWE ring in a moment that lives on forever in WWE highlight reels.

What will happen with the behemoths tie up again on pay-per-view? Will Big Show back up his words and prove that Lesnar is not unstoppable? Or will The Beast, intent on pushing his way into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture, be victorious against the giant who packs dynamite in his fist? With both Superstars fueled by disdain, the one safe bet is that Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar is less likely to look like a sanctioned wrestling bout than a knock-down, drag-out fight between the two biggest dogs in the yard.  Find out which bruiser prevails when this hellish maelstrom takes center stage at Royal Rumble on Sunday, Jan. 26.

SmackDown Results: 'Justice' prevails over Outlaws; The Viper strikes down Langston

PHILADELPHIA – Amidst continued allegations of dissention in their ranks, The Shield stood strong – and united – as they dropped CM Punk & The New Age Outlaws in a decades-spanning SmackDown main event. And in an epic showdown, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton emerged victorious over Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston.

The Usos vs. Luke Harper & Erick Rowan ended in a Double Count-Out

Bray Wyatt may have informed Daniel Bryan that they will team together next week on Raw to take on The Usos, but in the meantime, disciples Erick Rowan & Luke Harper faced the always-amped-up Samoans on SmackDown.

With Wyatt and Bryan conspicuously absent from ringside, Harper & Rowan engaged The Usos both inside and outside the ring. When all order in the bout deteriorated into chaos and the action spilled to the outside, the referee was forced to call for the Double Count-Out.

As the Wyatts continued their assault after the bell, Jimmy & Jey slipped through the ropes and headed up the ramp. But the danger was far from over for the brothers, as the lights went out and Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan appeared to incite a 4-on-2 beat down.

Will Jimmy & Jey be at their best when they face Wyatt & Bryan Monday night?

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena Royal Rumble

In what is being called the biggest championship rematch in history, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton will defend his title against John Cena at the 2014 Royal Rumble. This time, however, there will be no tables, ladders or chairs involved in the outcome. This epic rematch will be a true test of both Superstars’ skill inside the squared circle. After announcing the monumental bout, Stephanie McMahon declared that there will be no stipulations, no interference and no excuses in the championship clash. It will be one fall to a finish and will end by pinfall or submission. The battle scars are still fresh on both competitors from a brutal Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match at WWE TLC 2013. Though he was handcuffed to the turnbuckle at one point, Cena battled free from his shackles and nearly became the Champion of Champions. The cunning Viper, however, shoved the Cenation leader off a ladder, sending him crashing into a table propped up in the corner. That gave Orton the opening to grab both titles from their golden perch high above the ring, unifying sports-entertainment’s top two prizes into one ultimate championship. Cena wasn’t going to go quietly into the sunset after coming up short at WWE TLC. The next night, Cena crashed Orton’s celebration and urged The Viper to give Daniel Bryan an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Title. The Apex Predator did clash with Bryan in non-title action later that night, but when it looked like the bearded wonder’s resilience would bring him a huge win, Orton put a stop to it with a blatant low blow. And when Cena rushed to Bryan’s aid, he got a ring-rocking RKO for his troubles. There won’t be any room for shenanigans on Jan. 26, 2014, when Cena and Orton write another chapter in their storied history that dates back to their time in WWE’s developmental system. Though the vicious temptations of the TLC Match won’t be looming nearby, there’s still no doubt that they’ll throw everything they physically have at each other to walk out of Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center and onto The Road to WrestleMania XXX with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in their possession. Can Cena dethrone The Viper, or will Orton finally get rid of the huge thorn in his side? Find out at the 2014 Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

SmackDown Results: Cracks apparent in The Shield as Punk & The Usos prevailed

The Shield denied rumors of dissention; The Usos def. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns by Disqualification WASHINGTON, DC – In the first SmackDown of 2014, The Best in the World CM Punk and the high-octane Usos reigned supreme over a Shield trio who couldn’t seem to get on the same page. Plus, WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Goldust withstood the formidable challenge of The Wyatt Family and Bray Wyatt himself delivered a creepy message about Daniel Bryan joining the fold. At the opening of SmackDown, United States Champion Dean Ambrose addressed recent speculation about possible dissention in the ranks of The Hounds of Justice – informing CM Punk, in particular, that he couldn’t divide and conquer them. Roman Reigns added that there was no weak link to divide and Seth Rollins said that any setbacks they had were temporary, since in the end, they would do what they do best – come together and dominate. Ambrose then joined the SmackDown announce team as his cohorts battled The Usos. However, when it looked as if Jimmy & Jey might close the door on their black-clad adversaries, Ambrose intervened – bringing an abrupt end to the match by disqualification. The Shield’s post-match attack would be thwarted when The Straight Edge Superstar emerged to even the odds and helped to send the Hounds packing. SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero would then create a huge SmackDown main event showdown on the WWE App: Ambrose, Reigns & Rollins vs. Punk & the Samoan warriors!
